SafeGuard Cloud
AI & Bot Control With Tariff Management
The Problem
AI and other bots scrape web pages for information without giving any reference to its origin, making your intellectual property useless. AI bots and search engines, especially those with ad services, are making millions from our content and while they may share some of that revenue with ad affiliates, even their returns are ever diminishing.
Webmasters need to address what they now see as "plagiarism and exploitation" but legal perspectives like Copyright are useless and the use of robots.text and rel=nofollow only serves to draw attention to what we want ignored!
The Solution
Our solution is to turn the tables and take control over which content can be accessed, by whom, and ensure that you get paid for the use of your content.
The SafeGuard Cloud service creates a secure tunnel between your website and the user's desktop in which nothing can be scraped in any way, and as the site owner, you have total control over who can access it, how and under which circumstances, with immediate effect on any changes made to your requirements.
SafeGuard Cloud Features
The SafeGuard Cloud service provides many options for access rights control:
- Bot Protection - encrypted pages that can only be accessed by users with ArtisBrowser installed.
- Copy Protection - encryption pages with copy protection that can only be accessed while using ArtisBrowser.
- DRM Protection - encryption pages that require a DRM Token for access while using ArtisBrowser.
- Whitelisting - bots can bypass encryption by creating an account and paying a tariff for usage.
Bot Protection
SafeGuard Cloud uses a two-factor solution to prevent access by bots and web scapers that cannot be exploited. scrapers by initally checking the footprint of the web browser. Only ArtisBrowser can pass fingerprint testing and only Artisbrowser can decrypt the web pages displayed by the Safeguard Cloud service.
DRM Protection
Web pages nominated for DRM protection required that the user have a DRM Token for their right to access and view your page (or collection of pages). DRM Tokens can be provided for individual users based on browser fingerprint or network address. DRM Tokens can be managed with total control over all aspects with immediate effect when any changes are made. For example if anyone, including the Gods of the Internet, do not honour their agreement, you can suspend their access until they do. Toekens can also include expiry that requires renewal per month or per year. Or they can be assigned per number of hits, ie: total number of visits allowed.
Copy Protection
The SafeGuard Cloud service is provided by ArtistScope, the world leading developer of copy protection for the Internet since they invented it in 1998. Their enterprise solution, the ArtistScope Site Protection System (ASPS) provides the most securely copy protected viewing environment ever imagined, and the ArtisBrowser is available for all devices including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Linux is on the way.
Implementation
The easiset way to get started is to add a meta-tag for redirection on any pages that you want to protect. However if using a CMS like Moodle or WordPress, you can use our plugin tu add redirection dynamically by sumply nominating a keyword that can be found in the page's url. Then from your dashboard at safeguard.media you can manage settings for OS/devices that are allowed access, which pages are for BOT, DRM or Copy Protection, and also manage DRM Tokens and Bot Accress Rights.
Bot Access Rights - Whitelist
AI, search engines and other bot type scrapers can be whitelisted to enable unrestricted access to your Safeguard Cloud pages (no encryption). However you have full control over their usage with logging to track visits for billing.
Search engines and bots can apply for Access Rights by submitting an application for a Safeguard Cloud for Bots account. Bots can nominate which sites that do have access to by selecting category (all or 3 categories max).
Remuneration
Each website can nominate their own tariff (per hit or per month) for search engines to pay. Monthly charges are calculated according to hits/tariff and each Bot is billed accordingly. All clients using the Safeguard Cloud service that have allowed Bots are remunerated according to hits logged for their site at the tariff rate nominated for that period. Clients are remunerated monthly less a 20% handling fee in accordance with the Terms of Service for Clients.
Test Your Site
Nominate a url like https://example.com/ or https://example.com/page.html
- Select an authorised site from the dropdown menu, or
- Nominate a link (may not be authorised).
The Alternatives
There are none. If you allow access to your intellectual property to normal web browsers there is nothing you can do to stop the pillage.
