It is called SafeGuard Mail to be distinct from other concepts and because it is in fact very much like a webmail service.
The message that you post is displayed as a web page which can be most securely copy protected and with DRM to prevent sharing. On that page you can add images, PDF and video which cannot be saved, downloaded or copied in any way... and you can set specific access permissions so that only designated subscribers can view it.
With SafeGuard Mail you don't even need a website and it can be used like a mail service. As the author you post a message, select recipients and protection settings, and each user can receive a notice and link to view online. If you are running courses or just looking for feedback, the recipients can reply to you just like replying to an email, only all of this happens in a secure web browser and not a mail client so that it can be properly copy protected.
